Blomkamp, Hazel. “Crewel Intentions,” Tunbridge Wells, England, Search Press, 2014.
This book contains seven more of Hazel Blomkamp’s modern Jacobean crewel designs. Instead of traditional crewel materials, she uses cotton, rayon and metallic threads; beads and crystals; and cotton, linen, taffeta, and silk material. And she combines Jacobean crewel techniques with needlelace, Brazilian and bead embroidery, stump work, and weaving. The result is beautiful needlework for framing, cushions, footstools, tops of boxes, inserts in trays, needle books, and purses.
